Fred Eisen Leather & Art Knives sells a wide variety of clothes and accessories. But, Fred is famous for his focus on handcrafted bags and wristbands – all produced right in his shop. The items come in an array of bright colors along with the traditional brown and black leathers, where craftsmanship is key. This year Fred Eisen Leather & Art Knives is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Fred actually started learning his craft as a child. After studying leather history and construction techniques, Fred Eisen created his first items at age 14. By the time he was 18, he was supporting himself with his business and was paying his way through college. Fred worked in leather shops across the country and opened his first shop in Brooklyn, NY. He moved his shop to New Hope shop in 1989. Several years ago Fred also became interested in art knives made by skilled artisans, and now carries work from 100 of the top knife makers in the world, and collectors come from far and wide to see the latest artistic creations.
